Peace and Safety
Some churches want you to believe people will say, “Peace and Safety” when a treaty is signed between Israel and the man of sin. Some teach peace and safety during the Great Tribulation. There is only one right answer and we need to go to the scriptures to find the truth.
1 Thessalonians 5:2-3 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
From the verse above we know this is the time when Jesus returns. When we study Revelation this time frame of “peace and safety” becomes very clear. The only time people will think they are safe is at the end of the Great Tribulation.
After the Beast kill the Two Witnesses the wicked will rejoice and send gifts to one another. The Two Witnesses who were responsible for the plagues for the 3 ½ years during the Great Tribulation have been killed and the people will believe it is over and peace has finally come. But three and a half days later the two men will come to life and sudden destruction comes. This is God’s wrath.
Revelation 11:6-12 6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will. 7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. 8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. 9 And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves. 10 And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth. 11 And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them. 12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.
